From the 6th of April 2002, company car taxation has been based on the CO2 emission rating and P11D value (list price) of a vehicle. This new system of taxation applies to cars registered from January 1998 onwards.

From 1st April 2008, a new lower 10% band was introduced to the table. The new band applies to cars with a CO2 value of 120g/km or less. Note that unlike the other bands, there is no rounding of figures on this new band. There are also some further concessions available for cars that can run on alternative fuel, i.e. hybrid cars, bi-fuelled (LPG / CNG), and cars that can run on a mixture of bio and conventional fuels (E85).

NB - Please note diesel vehicles have a 3% penalty added up to a maximum of 35%.
